Playin' with Shadin'

Harhar.... what a terrib..LY awesome title, huh?

So, an artistic mentor and coworker of mine, Chidi M. (check out his stuff http://www.chidomo.com/index_BK.htm) let me know about a great, realtime shader for 3ds max. He suggested I give it a try and pointed out that my airship could be further beautified. I've taken his suggestion and have spent a bit of yesterday and today getting to know the shader (check the shader out http://www.laurenscorijn.com/viewportshader). While at it I created a spec, norm and glow map. Here's the latest!

    That is pretty nice. This is just a veiwport shader? I like the painted textures, thought the rips on the sails seem a little off to me. What size textures and poly count is this? Work or Fun?

  3. lol i just saw i had comments! how unusual. :P yeah i can see what you're saying about the rips and i could probably go back in and adjust. i've kind of moved on and had been wanting to just play with a new viewport shader.
